Dr. Vu

Dr. Vu has been a practicing Optometrist since 2015. He received his bachelor’s from UC Berkeley and obtained his Optometric Doctorate from Western University of Health Sciences. Since graduation, he has practiced in many practice modalities, from corporate optometry to VA hospitals, and penitentiaries; he has since settled in Compton and has been providing comprehensive eye care to South Los Angeles since 2017. He prides himself in making sure that his patient’s needs are met after their visit to the practice and ensuring that they leave educated on the condition of their vision and eyes. Interests and hobbies include spending time outdoors hiking, playing basketball, and family time with his infant daughter, wife, and dog.

Dr. Nguyen

Born in Vietnam with the most common Vietnamese last name – Nguyen (pronounced “Win”), he moved to New Jersey at the age of 5 as a refugee. He studied Math and Biology at Rutgers College and went to Optometry school in Philadelphia on a Navy scholarship. After graduation, he commissioned as a Navy officer at Naval Air Station Lemoore near Bakersfield. Since 2001, he has worked on military facilities, Walmarts, Lenscrafters, VA hospitals, private practices, prisons, and most recently at Weed Army hospital near Victorville as a civilian optometrist. He continues to serve as an Army reservist since leaving Weed Army hospital. In 2019, he joined Dr. Messinger’s office as an associate doctor. His interests include Astronomy and space things, photography, college and pro sports, reading and writing, church and violin music, and family life with wife and 2 daughters. He loves to educate his patients with eye photos and treats them like family.
